Srinagar seems to be a promising hub for startups. It is evident from the steps being taken by the state government. Lately, entrepreneurs and investors witnessed the launch of ‘Hausla 2.0’ and the JK Startup Portal by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. It is built on the success of Hausla 1.0 program.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha congratulated the women and young startup entrepreneurs of the region. He emphasizing the goal of the program is to harness the entrepreneurial potential of women. He said that Hausla 2.0 will primarily focus on creating a nurturing ecosystem for women’s economic empowerment. It will be a great help for them in building global brands through hard work and determination.

He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to fostering entrepreneurship. He said that the efforts under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been directed towards providing required support and resources for young entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, the new JK Startup Portal will streamline application process for various support mechanisms such as seed funding, mentoring, startup awards and infrastructure benefits for incubators.

The Lieutenant Governor commended the contributions of the JKTPO, JKEDI, J&K Bank and other stakeholders in empowering entrepreneurs in the region. The JKEDI has signed Memorandums of Understanding with five higher educational institutions to provide further support.

He addressed the journey of J&K towards peace and prosperity. He called for unity against divisive forces. He simultaneously assured the gathering that the administration and security forces are committed to eliminating terrorism in the region and bring peace.
