Dubai lately hosted the World Bank Group Cloud Computing Workshop event organized by the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) partnering with the World Bank Group. It was held just before the Global Government Cloud Forum and was the first of its kind.

The key players which participated in the event included government representatives, cloud service providers and industry experts. They focused on critical areas such as green cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and data protection.

The workshop was noteworthy as it reflected the growing influence of Dubai in the tech world. Dubai is aiming to keep pace with global innovation and even to lead it under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. H.E. Yousuf Al Shaibani of DESC emphasized the ambition and said that such events highlight the commitment of Dubai to modernize infrastructure and strengthen collaboration across borders.

The decision of Dubai to integrate sustainability into the conversation adds another layer of significance. It highlighted the blending innovation of Dubai with sustainability and others to follow. Dubai is talking about the future and also actively building it by showing how green technologies can support cloud infrastructure.

The workshop and the upcoming Global Government Cloud Forum demonstrate the ability of Dubai to bring together diverse voices to address shared challenges. The stage is set for impactful discussions equipped with more than 500 experts, 200 government officials and 50 international speakers.

The proactive approach of Dubai offers a roadmap for other cities in the world to follow. The city is proving that ambitious goals can lead to some positive results.
