Key Takeaways:

SpaceX moved the new Starship V3 out of the factory to prepare for the first test flight in March.
This rocket has 40% more thrust and can carry more than 200 tons of cargo into space.
Spacex wants to drop costs to under $10 per kilogram, paving the way for the economy on Mars.

SpaceX announced that their brand Starship V3 left the assembly building at Starbase, Texas. They said that the reusable spacecraft will go to the orbital launch pad to begin testing before they launch.
Preparing for Flight 9
The new Starship, which is called Ship 33, was transported by road. It will be ready for Flight 9. This will be the first time the company flies the full stack configuration with Block 3 design, pairing Ship 33 with Booster 14.
Before it can fly, the team of SpaceX will run a series of intense tests. They will do a cryo test to check the fuel tanks. Then, they will perform a static fire test of all 33 Raptor engines on the booster. Finally, they will do a wet dress rehearsal. If everything goes well, SpaceX will have a launch date in early March 2026.
Starship V3 ready to test before the launch
Bigger and Much More Powerful
The V3 version is a big upgrade from the V2. It will function with a 40% increase in thrust, jumping from 7,500 tons to more than 10,000 tons of power.
To feed those engines, the rocket must have larger fuel tanks. This extra power will allow the Starship to carry a payload of more than 200 tons into Low Earth Orbit.
A Factory Building Spaceships
SpaceX builds two Starships every month at Starbase. They want to launch 25 flights in 2026 and they want to prove that they can reuse a rocket in less than a month.
In January 2026, Flight 8 was a successful flight, the engines landed perfectly in the Indian Ocean. A V3 will open the door for SpaceX to launch Starlink V3 satellites and NASA’s Artemis III moon.
Building the Mars Economy
The enormous payload capacity means that the cost to launch cargo into space will drop to less than $10 per kilogram. That is ten times cheaper than the Falcon 9 rocket.
SpaceX market cap is at 350 billion, and there is a rumor that a Starlink IPO would happen in 2027. If Flight 9 succeeds, the Starship will be the top of the global launch.
