Chaitanya Belhekar from Pune completed his engineering degree and worked with Clairvolex in Gurgaon. He encountered cutting-edge agricultural technologies from Europe while on job. He got inspired and realized the differences in agricultural practices in India. He thereafter recognized the need for updated knowledge among farmers in our country.

He founded SkillGati with the help of his friend Tejas Gaikwad in December 2021. The main motto was to bridge this knowledge gap. The two discovered that valuable agricultural information was scattered across various institutions and experts. Hence, the knowledge was inaccessible to many farmers.

SkillGati aims to address the issue. It works in democratize agricultural knowledge by providing practical information in regional languages. It developed online training programs containing short, expert-led videos and even live sessions to answer the questions of farmers. Similarly, WhatsApp community was built to incorporate tasks and quizzes. This made learning engaging for the farmers.

SkillGati currently focuses on Hindi, Marathi and English languages. It offers training in various areas like goat farming, vermicompost and dairy farming. The startup seeks to revolutionize agricultural practices across India by empowering farmers with verified and practical knowledge.
