Vi Business, part of Vodafone Idea, has introduced a new platform called Vi Business IoT Smart Central. It is a high-tech system made to help businesses manage their IoT devices more easily. The integrated and user-friendly system allows businesses to effortlessly control, monitor and manage their IoT assets remotely as well as in real-time.

The Vi Business IoT Smart Central shows all IoT devices in one place, allowing businesses to control SIM cards in different industries like cars, banking and utilities. A special thing about Vi Business IoT Smart Central is that it has a flexible billing system and personalized rate plans.

Amit Satpathy, EVP and Head of IoT Business at Vodafone Idea, emphasized that as the adoption of IoT continues to grow, the next decade will witness the emergence of a massive IoT ecosystem with billions of connected devices. The Vi Business IoT Smart Central helps businesses by managing and watching over their IoT devices in one central place.

The platform also has an interesting feature that helps in predicting when maintenance is needed. This helps avoid delays in operations and makes technology work better. Users can conveniently raise and track queries, requests and complaints through the portal’s self-service capabilities, ensuring faster resolutions within 48 hours.

In 2021, both Vi and Airtel had announced business-oriented IoT solutions. Bharti Airtel, in July 2023, claimed to be the first telco in India to connect over 20 million devices through its IoT solutions.

In November 2023, Vi Business joined forces with IT consultancy major Accenture to commercialize shared operations and expedite growth. Accenture invested approximately 150 million euros ($160 million) for a minority stake in the partnership, leveraging Vodafone’s shared services unit, Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (VOIS), to create a scaled, commercially driven, and more efficient organization.
