Goa Startup Yatra Bootcamp 2024 has concluded and once again showcased the entrepreneurial energy bubbling among student community in the state. The two-day event was organized by the Startup and IT Promotion Cell under the Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications, Government of Goa.

The event was designed to guide student entrepreneurs through the often-overwhelming journey of startup development. It offered a deep dive into the realities of startup life on day one equipped with mentors like Raj Kapoor of the India Blockchain Alliance and Mangirish Salelkar of UMANG Group sharing insights from their extensive industry experience.

A total of 25 teams presented their business ideas at the event. The selection process was rigorous and six startups stood out. Bus tracking solution Flexibus took the top spot. It was developed by students from Agnel Institute of Technology and Design Engineering. The runner-up was Urban Growth in the Digital Age that brought forth a digital mapping concept for smart infrastructure.

The mentors and judges emphasized the need for long-term commitment. D S Prashant, CEO of the Startup and IT Promotion Cell, delivered a reminder speech in his closing remarks. He said that moving from ideation to execution is where the real challenge begins. His call to action underlined the commitment of Goa government to see these startups thrive beyond the bootcamp by offering continued support through initiatives like the Seed Capital Grant and mentorship programs.
