How is Virgio leveraging AI and predictive analytics to forecast trends and design fashion that truly resonates with today’s consumers?

At Virgio, we built TESLA (Trend Early Signal Learning & Analysis), an AI system that scans millions of digital signals across social media, pop culture, and retail data to detect emerging trends in real time. Instead of waiting months for trends to stabilize, TESLA helps us identify what’s resonating with consumers almost instantly. We then translate these insights into designs that reflect cultural moods and micro-trends, ensuring every style feels both relevant and desirable. This allows us to design for today’s consumer, not yesterday’s forecast.

Can you share how your technology-driven supply chain and on-demand production model help reduce waste and inefficiencies compared to traditional fast fashion?

Traditional fast fashion relies on speculative forecasting, which leads to massive overproduction and waste. At Virgio, our ATLAS (Agile Tech-Enabled Localized Adaptive Supply) model works differently. We create digital-first designs, produce in small-batch micro-factories, and scale up only once we see real consumer traction. This “on-demand” model ensures zero dead inventory, reduced carbon footprint, and garments that are both trend-forward and sustainably made. In short, we replace guesswork with data, and waste with responsiveness.

What role does data-driven personalization play in shaping Virgio’s customer experience, especially for Gen Z and millennial shoppers?

Today’s Gen Z and millennial shoppers value individuality and instant gratification. Virgio uses data-driven personalization from size inclusivity and fit recommendations to style curation based on browsing behavior, to make every customer feel seen. Our platform doesn’t just sell clothes; it learns from customers’ choices, social signals, and micro-moments to create a shopping journey that feels tailored, conversational, and community-driven. For a generation that’s grown up expecting personalization in music, media, and gaming, we bring the same ethos to fashion.

Virgio was founded in 2022—what has been the biggest milestone in your journey so far, and how do you see the brand evolving in the next 3 years?

Our biggest milestone has been proving that sustainable fashion and speed can coexist. From launching our first collections to onboarding over half a million consumers who’ve validated our “trend + sustainability” promise, we’ve shown that India is ready for a new model of fashion. Looking ahead three years, Virgio will expand its AI fuel led design-to-Factory pipeline globally, deepen personalization, and integrate digital passports for every garment, ensuring transparency, durability, and circularity. Our vision is to build the first truly real-time, zero-waste global fashion ecosystem from India.

As a homegrown Indian fashion-tech startup, how is Virgio positioning itself to disrupt not just the domestic market but also the global fashion ecosystem?

As a homegrown brand, Virgio is rewriting the narrative: Indian fashion-tech doesn’t just serve India. It leads globally. We’re combining India’s cultural heritage of textiles and craftsmanship with cutting-edge AI and supply chain innovation. This positions us uniquely against global fast fashion giants. Where others optimize for volume, we optimize for resonance, speed, and sustainability. Our goal is to make Virgio the world’s benchmark for what fashion can look like in the next decade: on-demand, circular, inclusive, and borderless.

How does Virgio ensure inclusivity in sizing, design, and accessibility while scaling its collections across diverse markets?

At VIRGIO, inclusivity isn’t an afterthought. It’s built into our design system. From day one, we’ve treated data as our biggest ally in understanding real women’s bodies, not mannequin proportions. Our AI-driven fit intelligence collects thousands of body shape signals from our community to create patterns that celebrate all silhouettes from XS to 6XL, without compromising style.

Through sub-brands like Beyond the Curve, co-created with actor Anjali Anand, we are proving that plus-size fashion can be just as expressive, on-trend, and premium. Accessibility also extends to pricing and availability , we design for many Indias and many worlds, ensuring great quality and self-expression are never limited by size or geography.

Sustainability is central to Virgio’s mission—can you share specific initiatives or innovations that minimize environmental impact in your production cycle?

Sustainability at VIRGIO starts before production, not after. Our TESLA (Trend Early Signal Learning & Analysis) engine predicts what will trend months in advance, helping us make only what the market truly wants. This eliminates wastage in the form of unsold inventory , fashion’s biggest hidden pollutant.

Our ATLAS system powers on-demand, localised production through micro-factories, reducing lead times, and overstock. Every garment carries a digital passport that traces its journey, from responsibly sourced fabrics to ethical stitching. By combining AI foresight and agile supply, we’ve built a system where sustainability and profitability reinforce each other.

How do collaborations with designers, influencers, and communities enhance Virgio’s brand identity and consumer engagement?

We believe collaboration fuels creativity. VIRGIO’s partnerships, whether with creators, or community leaders, are built on shared values, not vanity metrics. Creator collaborations bring craft and storytelling; influencer partnerships translate trends into real conversations; and community programs like The Curve Club and VIRGIO Space make our consumers co-creators of fashion itself.

These aren’t campaigns , they’re movements. Every drop, every story, every event is designed to blur the line between “brand” and “community,” turning engagement into belonging.

With a tech-first approach, what challenges have you faced in aligning traditional manufacturing partners with Virgio’s vision of fast, responsible fashion?

One of our biggest challenges was bridging the cultural gap between craft-led factories and code-led systems. Traditional vendors were used to long lead times, bulk orders, and limited feedback loops. VIRGIO flipped that. We work on small, rapid batches with real-time demand data.

To bring them along, we invested in digital literacy, transparent dashboards, and incentives for speed without compromise. Today, many of our manufacturing partners proudly call themselves “smart factories.” It’s not just a supply chain anymore. It’s an ecosystem that learns and evolves with us.

How does Virgio balance speed, trend relevance, and sustainability without compromising on quality or ethical standards?

Our formula is simple: Speed through intelligence, not compromise.

By predicting trends early, we buy time , not rush it. That time allows us to source the right fabrics, test durability (ISO standards), and ensure ethical practices, without losing agility. Instead of producing thousands of SKUs blindly, we make fewer, smarter bets, and scale what performs.

This means VIRGIO drops new styles every month, but with zero panic and zero waste. The result? Trend-led fashion that’s clean, conscious, and built to last, proving that speed and sustainability can coexist when powered by purpose and technology.
