The update contained a logic error and caused Windows systems to crash. The result was displaying dreaded blue screen of death (BSoD). About 8.5 million Windows devices were affected across the world and paralyzed critical services across various sectors. However, Mac and Linux systems were unaffected.<\/p>\n
Many systems were restored by Saturday. CrowdStrike\u2019s Falcon platform became the source of the problem.
