The GUESSS (Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students\u2019 Survey) India report highlights the potential for this startup wave. More than 140,000 startups have been registered under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The findings were based on responses from nearly 14,000 students across India and this means that 32.5% of Indian students are nascent entrepreneurs. The global average is 25.7%.<\/p>\n
Nearly half of the students have taken entrepreneurship courses and this has far surpassed the global average. The report also brings attention to a critical challenge that only 4.8% of student-led ventures have reached the revenue-generating stage. This gap signals the need for better support systems, mentorship and funding access.
