Artificial intelligence (AI) has gradually become a necessity and is believed to reshape every aspect of business worldwide. Publicis Sapient CEO Nigel Vaz said the same while speaking at the World Economic Forum\u2019s Annual Meeting in Davos.<\/p>\n
Publicis Sapient was originally founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1990. It is now a part of France\u2019s Publicis Groupe and has been at the forefront of digital transformation. Vaz observed that the discussions this year at Davos were particularly focused on utilizing data and AI to empower businesses and citizens.<\/p>\n
He said that almost every CEO at the meeting is looking at the way AI can help in advancing their products, refining their messaging and personalizing customer experiences. AI is now a core focus area for organizations from retail to creating targeted offers.<\/p>\n
Vaz was asked about the need for AI regulation and he said that the progress on a global framework is currently slow. He also simultaneously anticipated for the emergence of regional standards and something similar to the way the European Union\u2019s GDPR has set a benchmark for data privacy. He added that the standards may be adopted informally in other geographies, but the risk lies in overly restrictive regulations stifling innovation.<\/p>\n
Vaz also talked about the risks posed by AI and stressed that its adoption is inevitable and to profoundly transform businesses. He mentioned that rules and frameworks are vital to operate effectively while addressing ethical concerns.<\/p>\n
He concluded that AI has the potential to reimagine almost every part of an organization in this new era. It is no longer a question of if businesses will adopt AI but how they will integrate it to thrive in an increasingly intelligent world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
