Based in Seoul, South Korea, and founded in 2011 to honor Hyundai founder Chung Ju-yung, the foundation aims to launch their businesses for this year\u2019s Chung Ju-yung Startup Competition. The startups which are around for less than two years are invited to take part in the competition and the deadline for applying is April 22.<\/p>\n
The foundation has plans to initially select 30 teams and thereafter narrow it down to 12 in the final round after evaluating the businesses as well as their ideas over a six-month period.<\/p>\n
The foundation is learned to be providing office space, seed funding and mentorship as well. The 12 finalists will get the opportunity to pitch their business ideas at a startup demo day in November. The total awarded financial support will be 240 million ($180,000) to the winners.<\/p>\n
The foundation will come up with the first list of 30 teams in May 2025 and the 12 finalists will be revealed in September.<\/p>\n
The Chung Ju-yung Startup Competition is an annual event and basically aims to support budding entrepreneurs as well as identify future leaders.<\/p>\n
Chung Ju-yung was born in 1915. He was renowned for his forward-thinking approach, which transformed Hyundai into a major player in Korea. He is known for his willingness to take risks.
