Elon Musk believes superhuman artificial intelligence could be possible by next year and it will be smarter than anyone on Earth. His earlier prediction was that superintelligent AI may come into existence by 2029.<\/p>\n
Superhuman is defined as smarter than any individual human and superintelligent is often said to be smarter than every human\u2019s combined ability at any task.<\/p>\n
The multibillionaire expressed his recent view in a livestreamed interview on his social network X. However, his prediction was made with a caveat and it is that the capability may be limited with the increase demands of power and simultaneously shortages of the most powerful AI training chips.<\/p>\n
He said that the world witnessed shortage of chip in 2023 and people failed to get enough Nvidia chips. This year the shortage is being seen in a voltage transformer supply. The crisis of electricity supply will exist for a year or two.<\/p>\n
He was speaking at the launching of his AI startup called xAI. He said it is important to worry about a Terminator future to avoid the same. He referred to the film of a self-aware computer system that can wage humanity or war.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview the Tesla CEO had even said that his xAI startup is trying lead in the development of superintelligence. He added that his Grok AI chatbot was on par with the ChatGPT-4, which is currently leading the market and it is a model from OpenAI.<\/p>\n
As of now, ChatGPT-4 is more than a year old and it is true that rivals have met its standard or exceeded its capabilities. The Claude 3 Opus from the stable of Anthropic has emerged as the new leader in the segment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
